I am spending my week prepping for speaking in the big house this week. Our church is in the midst of a series on Ephesians – my husband and I were chosen to speak on Ephesians 5. Do you know the one?
I know this passage makes people uncomfortable- for years I felt uncomfortable with it. Until I met my husband, (CHEESE WARNING) he’s a good man. I have never felt more supported and encourage to live out my calling and to walk in my giftedness. He’s confident in who he is…which allows him to be confident in who I am. We get the privilege to serve at the same church- for years working together with students and now working in different areas of ministry. I am blessed.
Last night, as we were working on our message…Josh pointed out that this is one of the passages that can make the church seem mean and argumentative. When the very natural of Paul’s writing was unity in the church. Oh the irony. Paul’s writing should never be used to shame and hurt but to encourage unity and oneness in the body. I am excited to point to God’s plan for marriage this weekend. I’ll keep you posted on how it goes!
