Today I pause and celebrate the woman who have gone before me. Those who spoke up for the girls in the church that believed God has called them. Whose shoulders I stand on, whose voice has made my possible.

Our history from the beginning of time is filled with them.

Eve, Sarai, Esther, Ruth, Naomi, Jael, Deborah, Mary, Elizabeth, Anna, Junia, Lydia, the countless nameless ones, Saint Helena, Catherine of Sienna, Joan of Arc, Florence Nightingale, Catherine McAuley, Penny Jamieson, Helen Prejean, Mother Teresa, Aimee Semple McPherson, Nancy Valnes, and so many more.

Thank you for showing me and so many other girls that it was good to use our gifts in and outside of the church!
