I’ve been hearing people talk about this book for months but I was resistance to the idea of reading it. I knew it would be graphic and painful. But, I finally decided to read it and I am glad I did…not because it wasn’t graphic or painful but because it was an important reminder. A reminder that there are young girls on the street…on our streets in our cities. Young girls who are trapped against their will in the business of prostitution. Young girls who come from broken homes, young girls who have attended church and young girls who fell victim to the lure of a boyfriend who later turns into a pimp.
The books uses a real story to show you how girls end up on the streets. The author, Linda Smith (former congresswoman) gives insights on how to identify girls who may be on the road to danger. It’s a painful but powerful book that youth workers, parents and teachers should be reading.
I’ve got three copies to give away- be one of the first three to leave a comment and I’ll send you a copy!
